Personal Background of Edson (Ted) G. Pease, B. A. (Economics), LL.B.
Born and raised in Brantford, Ontario Ted graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1977 with degrees in Economics and Law and was called to the Bar in 1979. Ted was the managing partner of a six lawyer North York law firm for over ten years. In August, 1995 he established his own firm just north of Toronto in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
On August 1, 2001 Ted purchased the practice of retiring lawyer Bob McIntosh in his hometown and changed the firm name to McIntosh & Pease, Barristers and Solicitors. The firm operates an office in Richmond Hill to service the firm's GTA clients and another office in Brantford. Ted and his wife Colleen and their four children reside in Brantford and are active members of the Brantford Golf and Country Club and the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club.
For twenty-four years Ted has provided legal services in the corporate and commercial, business succession, estate and tax planning, estate administration, real estate and land development fields to individuals and family-owned and owner-managed businesses throughout the GTA and SouthWestern Ontario.
Ted is a member in good standing of The Law Society of Upper Canada and the Business, Estates and Trusts, and Real Estate sections of The Canadian Bar Association (Ontario). He is also an active member of The Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE), which is an organization dedicated to the success of family businesses in Canada. Ted has presented seminars to CAFE and other groups on business succession and estate and tax planning issues and has spoken on these topics on television and radio.
Ted was the Charter President of the Rotary Club of North York and the Charter Vice-President of the Brantford Sunrise Rotary Club. He is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce of Brantford Brant and is on the Brantford General Hospital Foundation "A Campaign for Radiology" professional groups committee.
When he manages to tear himself away from the busy practice of law, Ted enjoys a round of golf with friends and lazy days fishing at the cottage with his family.
