Ted Pease is a Certified Specialist in Estates and Trusts Law, one of fewer than 40 lawyers in Ontario to hold this Law Society of Ontario designation.
Born and raised in Brantford, Ontario Ted graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1977 with degrees in Economics and Law and was called to the Bar in 1979. Ted practiced law in Toronto after his call and was the managing partner of a six-lawyer North York law firm for over ten years. In August 1995, he established his own firm just north of Toronto in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
On August 1, 2001, Ted purchased the practice of retiring lawyer Robert (Bob) McIntosh in his hometown and changed the firm name to McIntosh & Pease, Barristers, and Solicitors. The firm operated a second office in Richmond Hill to service the firm's GTA clients for many years as well as the office in Brantford. In 2018, he sold his Richmond Hill practice to an excellent estates lawyer on the same floor to focus on his booming Brantford practice. Ted and his wife Colleen reside in Brantford and are active in the community.
Ted Pease has over 40 years' experience and specializes in estate planning and administration, with particular expertise in the use of trusts in the GTA, South Western Ontario and the Golden Horseshoe. Ted often acts as executor of an estate and trustee of trusts for beneficiaries. He also negotiates settlements in estate and capacity disputes, but refers out litigation.
Ted is a member in good standing of The Law Society of Ontario and the Estates and Trusts section of The Canadian Bar Association (Ontario). Ted was the Charter President of the Rotary Club of North York and the Charter Vice-President of the Brantford Sunrise Rotary Club. He has been an active member of the Chamber of Commerce of Brantford Brant and the Brantford General Hospital Foundation "A Campaign for Radiology" professional groups committee.
